The Walk Behind the Album
Quiet Authority: Formation & Praise
Formation & Praise — Origin Story
When I look back over the journey that led to Quiet Authority, I can see now that it did not begin with this album.
YAHUAH had been leading me toward it for some time.
The question that changed the direction of my walk had been simple:
How do I walk?
I had spent years learning, searching, questioning, studying Scripture, and discovering things about YAHUAH that challenged much of what I had previously understood. But eventually knowledge itself could no longer satisfy me.
I did not merely want to know what was true.
I wanted truth to become the way I lived.
That desire led me into Teach Me to Walk Like Yahusha Walked, where Scripture began becoming something more than information to understand. I was learning to read, reflect, bring what was exposed before YAHUAH in palal, and then practice it in the life I was actually living. The purpose was formation—not performance.
From that walk came the Palal: Prayers to Live By series.
And looking back, I can now see how each volume was preparing the heart for the next.
Palal Vol. I — Alignment & Endurance taught me to come beneath YAHUAH's order and remain there.
Alignment was not merely agreeing with Him in a moment of prayer.
It was allowing His Word, His character, His authority, and His will to govern the direction of my life.
And endurance was learning not to abandon that alignment when circumstances changed.
During that season I wrote a declaration that would become foundational to my walk:
“I do not chase alignment. I remain in it.”
But remaining exposed things.
So Palal Vol. II — Refinement, Sorting & Responsibility went deeper.
YAHUAH began showing me that everything I carried was not necessarily something He had given me to carry.
Every thought was not truth.
Every reaction was not righteous.
Every responsibility I felt was not necessarily an assignment.
Every conviction I inherited had to be brought beneath His Word.
Refinement began separating what could remain from what could not.
Sorting taught me to ask what was actually from YAHUAH.
Responsibility taught me to faithfully carry what He entrusted to me without reaching for control over what belonged to Him.
And then came Palal Vol. III — Heart Governance: Restoration, Order & Resolve.
That season exposed something even deeper.
My outward walk did not begin with my outward behavior.
It began within.
Something was always governing the decision before the decision became visible.
Fear could govern.
Pride could govern.
Pain could govern.
Tradition could govern.
My own understanding could govern.
The opinions of others could govern.
Or YAHUAH could govern.
That realization changed the way I understood the heart.
The heart was not merely the place of emotion.
It was a governing center.
What I allowed to remain there would eventually shape my thoughts, my words, my reactions, my decisions, and ultimately my walk.
So my prayers began changing.
Not simply:
YAHUAH, change my circumstances.
But:
Search me.
Correct me.
Govern me.
Restore Your order within me.
And that is where Quiet Authority began.
Not with the desire to become powerful.
Not with the desire to control anything around me.
But with the realization that true authority first requires surrender to authority.
I began to understand that YAHUAH's work in me was not primarily about making me louder, stronger, more certain of myself, or more capable of controlling outcomes.
He was making me steadier.
The more I learned to bring my heart beneath His government, the more unnecessary striving began to lose its power over me.
The need to convince everyone became quieter.
The need to defend every misunderstanding became quieter.
The need to force outcomes became quieter.
The need to carry responsibilities that belonged to YAHUAH became quieter.
But something else began growing in their place.
Trust.
Dependence.
Restraint.
Discernment.
Obedience.
Peace.
The ability to remain.
I eventually found language for what YAHUAH was doing:
Quiet Authority.
Not weakness.
Not passivity.
Not silence because there is nothing to say.
But strength that does not require striving.
Authority that does not need to announce itself.
A life becoming settled beneath the One whose authority gives it order.
Later I would describe that change this way:
The striving became quieter. Trust grew louder. Dependence grew deeper. Hope became steadier. Obedience became practical and functional.
And I realized something that corrected my understanding of the entire journey:
When my life became quieter, it did not mean it became easier. It meant it became governed.
That is the heart of Quiet Authority.
Through Promote the Truth, through hours spent in Scripture, through research, through questions, through palal, through conversations, and even through tools such as ChatGPT that helped me organize and examine what I was learning, YAHUAH continually brought me back to Himself.
Every resource could help me search.
But none of them could become the Source.
Everything still had to return before YAHUAH.
Because information could inform me.
Only He could form me.
And formation was what He was after.
I had once thought obedience was primarily doing the correct thing.
YAHUAH was showing me that obedience begins much earlier.
Before the action comes the decision.
Before the decision comes the desire.
Before the desire is followed, something within has already been given authority.
So when I began praying,
“YAHUAH, govern my heart,”
I was asking far more than I initially understood.
I was asking Him to govern my thoughts before they became words.
My desires before they became decisions.
My understanding before I treated it as truth.
My reactions before they became actions.
My fears before they interpreted my circumstances.
My relationships.
My provision.
My expectations.
My future.
My entire inward life.
I was asking Him to reveal every competing throne and bring it beneath His authority.
That kind of surrender does not create a person without thoughts, feelings, personality, or humanity.
It creates a person who knows where those things belong.
Under YAHUAH.
And the more I studied Yahusha, the more clearly I saw this posture lived perfectly.
He did not move simply because there was pressure to move.
He did not speak merely because others demanded an answer.
He did not allow rejection, praise, opposition, urgency, crowds, or even legitimate need to replace the Father as His Source.
His authority flowed from alignment.
His restraint flowed from alignment.
His obedience flowed from alignment.
His life remained beneath the Father's will.
And I began realizing:
That was the walk I had been asking YAHUAH to teach me all along.
Quiet authority was not something I needed to manufacture.
It was what began appearing when self-rule was gradually surrendered.
When YAHUAH governed the heart, the walk became different.
Prayer changed because I was no longer merely asking Him to endorse what I wanted.
Praise changed because I was beginning to recognize who He truly is.
Worship changed because it was no longer confined to music.
Relationships changed because every reaction did not have to become a response.
Suffering changed because pressure no longer automatically determined direction.
Obedience changed because it was becoming less about external performance and more about inward agreement.
Even strength changed.
Strength no longer meant controlling what surrounded me.
Sometimes strength meant remaining still beneath what YAHUAH had already spoken.
And praise began changing with it.
I was beginning to understand that praise is not merely something the mouth offers.
A governed life can praise.
Restraint can praise.
Trust can praise.
Obedience can praise.
Remaining can praise.
A life functioning beneath the authority of its Source becomes its own testimony of who YAHUAH is.
That is why Quiet Authority: Formation & Praise carries both words.
Formation.
Because YAHUAH was forming the person beneath the song.
Praise.
Because what He formed was beginning to change how the entire life responded to Him.
Quiet Authority became the testimony of a season in which I finally began understanding that YAHUAH was not merely teaching my mind.
He was governing my heart.
And once His government began settling within me, I discovered that authority did not always sound like a raised voice.
Sometimes authority looked like restraint.
Sometimes it looked like trust.
Sometimes it looked like waiting.
Sometimes it looked like refusing to defend yourself.
Sometimes it looked like walking away from what was not assigned to you.
Sometimes it looked like remaining exactly where YAHUAH placed you.
Sometimes it was simply one governed decision made quietly before Him.
And perhaps that was the greatest lesson of the entire Palal journey:
Alignment taught me to come beneath His order.
Endurance taught me to remain.
Refinement taught me what could not remain.
Heart governance revealed who must rule what remained.
And Quiet Authority taught me what happens next:
When YAHUAH governs the heart, His order begins to quietly govern the life.
Quiet authority is not found in controlling others.
It is found in surrendering ourselves.
And the more completely the heart comes beneath the authority of YAHUAH,
the less authority everything else has to move it.
