Day 2 - Abiding: Learning Where His Walk Comes From

Yahusha's walk did not begin with His works—it began with abiding. Everything He said, did, and endured flowed from continual fellowship with the Father. Before we can walk as He walked, we must learn to remain where He remained.

Why The Son of Man ?

Why does Yahusha repeatedly say, "The Son can do nothing by Himself," yet later explain that authority has been given to Him because He is the Son of Man? What does this reveal about how authority functions in the Kingdom?

Yahuhanan 5:19–30

19. Yahusha said, ‘I assure you that the Son cannot do anything by Himself;
He can only do what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son does as well.

20. The Father loves the Son, and shows Him everything that He is doing.
The Father will show the Son even greater things; you will be amazed.
21. As the Father raises the dead and gives them life again, so does the Son give life to whomever he wishes.

22. The Father does not judge anyone, because He has given all judgment to the Son.

23. He has done this so that everyone will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent the Son.

24. I tell you the truth, whoever hears My Word and believes in the One who sent Me has eternal life and shall not come under judgment. They have passed from death into life.

25. I assure you that the time is coming, and is already here, when the dead will hear the Voice of Aluah's Son, and those who hear it shall live.

26. Just like the Father has life in Himself, He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.

27. He gives the Son authority to execute judgment because He is the Son of Man.

28. Do not be surprised at this. There will be a time when all the dead will hear the Voice of the Son of Man.

29. When those who are dead hear the Son of Man's Voice, they shall come out of their tombs. Everyone who has done good will rise to eternal life, but everyone who has done evil will rise and be condemned.

30. I cannot do anything by Myself. The Father taught Me how to judge, and My judgment is fair. I do not seek My own will, but the will of the One who sent Me.

Reflection

Hebrew Thought Restores Understanding

When Yahusha declares, "The Son can do nothing by Himself," He is not speaking of inability; He is revealing order.

Throughout Yahuhanan 5, Yahusha repeatedly explains that He does not originate His own work. He receives from the Father, sees what the Father is doing, speaks what the Father gives Him, judges according to the Father's will, and carries out only what He has been sent to accomplish. His walk is one of complete agreement with the One who sent Him.

As the passage unfolds, Yahusha makes a striking statement:

"He gives the Son authority to execute judgment because He is the Son of Man."

This invites an important question.

Why does Yahusha speak of Himself as both the Son of Aluah and the Son of Man?

To understand the function of these words, Yahuhanan 5 invites us to look beyond itself.

Yihazaqal: Humanity Under Instruction

Yahuah repeatedly addresses Yihazaqal as "Human One."

The Human One is told to:

Stand.
Listen.
Receive.
Eat what is given.
Go where he is sent.
Speak only what Yahuah gives him.

The function is clear. Humanity is not portrayed as self-governing, but as receiving instruction, remaining faithful, and carrying out the will of Yahuah.

Daniyal: Humanity Revealing Yahuah's Rule

Daniyal then sees One like the Son of Man.

He appears before the Ancient of Days, and all power, esteem, and rule are made known through Him.

Again, authority is not self-produced.

It is received and revealed.

The Son of Man becomes the vessel through whom Yahuah's reign is made visible.

Yahuhanan: Humanity Perfectly Walking the Father's Will

Yahusha now reveals the fulfillment of this pattern.

He repeatedly declares:

I do nothing by Myself.
I seek not My own will.
The Father has sent Me.
The Father has shown Me.
The Father has given Me.

Then, while speaking about the authority entrusted to Him, He identifies Himself as the Son of Man.

The title is revealed through His walk.

Yahusha shows humanity functioning exactly as Yahuah intended: receiving from the Father, remaining in the Father, revealing the Father, and faithfully carrying out the Father's will.

The Pattern Continues

This understanding becomes even clearer in Yahuhanan 15–17.

Yahusha teaches His disciples to abide just as He abides.

The branch bears fruit because it remains in the vine.

The Son remains in the Father.

The disciples are called to remain in the Son.

Then Yahusha prays:

"As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world."

The same pattern continues.

The Father sends.

The Son reveals.

The disciples walk in that same order.

Hebrew Thought Restores Understanding

From Yihazaqal to Daniyal to Yahuhanan, the Scriptures reveal one consistent pattern:

Yahuah is not merely revealing who the Son is.

He is revealing how humanity was created to function.

Yahusha does not simply bear the title Son of Man.

He reveals the fullness of what humanity looks like when it walks in complete covenant agreement with the Father.

His life becomes the pattern.

His obedience becomes the revelation.

His walk becomes the invitation.

This is why Yahusha repeatedly calls His disciples to follow Him. He is not inviting them merely to admire His works, but to learn the order from which those works flow. To walk as Yahusha walked is to abandon self-rule, receive the Father's will, and faithfully reveal Him through a life of complete alignment.

Open Your Heart Before the Father

Ahba Yahuah,

Teach me to walk as You created humanity to walk. Remove from me every desire to govern myself apart from You. Where I have trusted my own understanding, restore me to complete dependence upon Your instruction.

Train my heart to receive before it responds, to listen before it speaks, and to seek Your will before taking a single step. Let me never become the source of my own direction, but teach me to remain in the order You have established.

As Yahusha revealed You by the way He walked, let my life become a faithful witness of Your character. May my words reveal Your truth, my decisions reveal Your wisdom, my compassion reveal Your heart, and my obedience reveal that I belong to You.

Remove every trace of pride that desires recognition apart from You. Silence every impulse that seeks to move ahead of Your voice. Deliver me from self-produced works and teach me to live from what You reveal, not from what I imagine.

Restore me to the purpose for which humanity was created: to receive from You, to remain in You, and to faithfully reveal You. May every step I take bear witness that my life is governed by Your order and not my own.

Teach me to walk as Your child. Teach me to live as Your faithful servant. Teach me to reveal You as Yahusha revealed You, so that those who encounter my life may see not my strength, but the evidence of Your work within me.
