Truth Scriptures

Ma’ashiyim (Acts) 4:13–20

“Now, the council was taken by surprise by the confidence and boldness with which Kapa and Yahuhanan spoke, They thought that these men were uneducated and ignorant They also recognized that they were followers of Yahusha and had been with Him.” However, since the healed man was standing with Kapa and Yahuhanan right before their own eyes, they could not say anything to refute them.

“After ordering them to wait outside, the council members began to speak amoung themselves.”

“However, to keep this from spreading any further, we will order them to never again speak to anyone about the name of Yahuah Mashiyha.” So, they called the two emissaries back in and told them that they must never speak about or teach in the Name of Yahuah Mashiyha again.

“However Kapa and Yahuhanan replaid to them, and said, "Do you think Aluah wants us to obey you or obey Him?”

“We cannot help but to speak about the things which we have seen and heard.”

The rulers recognize the boldness of Kapa and Yahuhanan and also recognize that they had been with Yahusha.

Though commanded not to speak in the Name of Yahuah, they respond without hostility or fear. They do not argue for themselves — they remain aligned with Aluah.

Notice how they speak: clear, steady, and without compromise.

Reflect

In Hebrew thought, boldness is not personality or volume. It is settled obedience flowing from alignment and proximity.

Key Hebrew thought insights:

  • Authority flows from alignment, not status
  • Name speaks of authority, character, and commission
  • Being with Yahusha forms courage
  • Honor and obedience are not always the same
  • Truth does not need aggression to carry authority
  • Silence can become disobedience when truth must be spoken

Bold obedience is not rebellion. It is faithfulness when pressure would prefer silence.

Questions to Consider

  • Where am I tempted to stay silent to avoid discomfort?
  • Have I confused gentleness with avoidance?
  • Can I speak truth without needing to win?
  • Where does my obedience weaken under pressure?

Palal

Aluah, anchor my obedience in Your authority and not in my emotions. Remove the fear that tempts me to shrink back.

Teach me to speak when You say speak, and to be still when You say be still. Let my words be measured, my tone be gentle, and my stance remain firm in truth.

Strengthen me to walk in quiet boldness, with settled confidence that You have sent me. Make me to stand.

Ahlaluyah.

Practice

Speak one truthful thing gently but firmly today.

“How can I honor people without disobeying Aluah?”

Set a boundary, tell the truth calmly, or refuse compromise without hostility.

“Bold obedience is settled, not loud.”

Day 23 Anchor

Bold obedience speaks truth with humility when silence would be easier.
